Planning weddings can be similar to choreographing fairy tales. As a family member, professional, or spouse-to-be, being involved in making these plans can be a romantic adventure. Just like the once-upon-a-time stories, there are gowns and suits, a romantic setting, and a happily-ever-after following “the end.”
Gowns and Suits
What’s a fairy tale production without costumes of flowing gowns and handsome suits? Most little girls dream about being princesses and belles of the ball. During weddings, each bride actually gets to be that princess or belle. White gowns with veils can be floor length, or something more casual. Fabrics can be silk, velvet, embroidered with sequins and jewels, or anything else that suits the bride’s fancy. A veil can be short and kicky or long and dramatic.
Not only does the bride get to dress up, her best girlfriends, the bridesmaids, also get to be princesses in matching gowns. The groom and groomsmen get to don formal or semi-formal attire to suit their tastes. They are the princes to their female counterparts’ princesses. Black and white tuxedos with tails, or any other color of the rainbow, can be worn to fit the mood of the ceremony and reception. These costumes make the production fun as well as beautiful.
The setting for romantic weddings can be a lovely country church, a beach, a forest, or in someone’s flower garden. The list of romantic locations is only limited by the tastes and wallet of the bride and groom. Many individuals decide to incorporate their hobbies and passions into the event, such as holding the ceremony and reception at a dude ranch if they are horseback riders, on an island if they are into seashells and surfing, or in the butterfly garden of the local botanical gardens if they are nature enthusiasts. Having meals catered, tables and chairs brought in, and a photographer to capture the special moments at the chosen setting will make it all unique and memorable.
Happily Ever After
Every marriage and fairy tale should have a happy-ever-after ending, which is actually the beginning of a new life together. After the ceremony, there are honeymoons to plan and new chapters to begin. If a couple has chosen a destination wedding, they can honeymoon right there at the locale. Guests can stay on to party with them or the couple can move to a more secluded and private space if they prefer a more intimate experience. It all depends on personal preferences and desires.
Weddings can be more than just legal ceremonies to join two partners in a new life together. They can also be productions similar to fairy tales. They can be fun, beautiful, and something to remember for life.
